Is reciprocal linking dead?

Absolutely not. Is it worth as much as one-way links? Not even close. Though reciprocal linking with the primary goal of increasing page rank IS dead. If you decide to trade links, make sure to have them leading to relevant pages with good content. Linking for the purpose of linking is the basis of link farms. You don't want Google thinking you have a link farm.
