Absolutely not! It's impossible for some people, but since you're here reading and doing research, you're already on the right track for success. It takes the know-how, creative thinking, and a lot of hard work to get to #1 for competitive keywords. It's a lot easier to get to #1 with the same characteristics plus a big budget and a lot of manpower. Still, those that think out-of-the-box are more likely to rank than those that follow the herd. Get creative, role up your sleeves, and most importantly be patient. It won't happen overnight, but when it happens, maintaining your position will be much easier than was the path getting there.
